Economía is the journal of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA). Launched in 2000, ECONOMIA publishes 2 issues per year. It has become the outlet of choice for some of the best research conducted in and on Latin America or relevant for the region.

Aims and Scope
Published by the Brookings Press, ECONOMIA publishes peer-reviewed research papers covering a range of topics in applied and empirical economics that are of policy relevance to Latin America. ECONOMIA’s emphasis is on rigorous applied theoretical or quantitative work that uses modern analytical tools and, possibly, novel or underexploited databases. Consistent with its aim, the journal also publishes critical surveys of work on policy-relevant areas. The journal welcomes work on any area of macroeconomics, microeconomics, or finance. The journal welcomes submissions at any time. The journal follows a standard refereeing process, led by senior editors who are experts in various fields (see also Submission Guidelines And Editorial Procedures)
