Professor Cavalcanti Ferreira is associate professor at the Escola de Graduação em Economia e Finanças of the Fundação Getulio Vargas (EPGE-FGV) and executive director of the FGV Growth and Development Center. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a MA from PUC-RJ. His research focus mostly on Macroeconomics and Growth. Current projects include papers on structural transformation, human capital accumulation and urbanization, early childhood education and growth and the macroeconomic effects of conditional cash transfers programs. Recently, he has also worked with life-cycle heterogeneous agent models to study retirement and health care reform.
